Finnair successfully implemented the Carmen Pairing system for cabin crew of its MD80 and Airbus fleets. The main objective of the project was to generate sufficient savings in a very short period of time (three weeks) to finance the roll-out of the remaining fleets.
The two-way interface created by Type 2 Solutions for cabin rostering seamlessly integrated the machine-generated pairings into the existing framework, helping to make this project a solid basis for the planned extension.
The “Crescendo” project, as it was named, was successfully completed on October 22, 2003.
The project was dubbed “Parrot” and lasted for almost 6 months; it was put into production on June 17, 2004.
